In this year, WebMedia will be part of a joint conference that includes the Symposium on Human Factors in Computer Systems (IHC2006) and the Brazilian Symposium on Collaborative Systems (SBSC2006).
The WebMedia 2006 Conference will have activities including:
- Full and Short paper Sessions
- Tools and Applications Session - Poster Session - Workshop of ongoing thesis and dissertations - Workshop of undergraduate research - Short courses - Tutorials Full and Short Papers
Authors are invited to submit original work, presenting the results of scientific or technological research activities. Authors may submit full papers (up to 10 pages length) or short papers (up to 3 pages in length). Full papers should describe complete works of original research. Short papers provide an opportunity to report on research in progress, to present novel positions on the area, or to demonstrate exciting new systems. In all cases, papers will be peer-reviewed by at least 3 reviewers from the Program Committee.

Tools and Applications Session have been traditionally promoted as an integrating event of WebMedia. The session is an important forum where both academic and industrial members can present their latest tools or prototypes. All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by members of the Tools and Applications Program Committee. The selected tools/applications selected will presented and demonstrated during the symposium. You are cordially invited to submit works on the topics of interest of WebMedia2006, as listed here. The papers describing the tools/applications must be electronically submitted through the JEMS/SBC system (https://submissoes.sbc.org.br). It is strongly recommended that authors make the tool/application (or a suitable version) available for downloading during the paper evaluation period. Papers submitted to the Tools and Applications Session of WebMedia 2006 must be original, and can not be simultaneously submitted to other conferences or journals, neither previously published. The paper acceptance requires that at least one author will register for the conference in order to present the work.
The paper describing the tool/application should explain, at least, and clearly: Papers should have up to 3 (three) pages, including all figures, references and appendices, and must follow the ACM style (see http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html). Papers can be submitted in English or in Portuguese. All papers must be in PDF format.
More information should be requested to the chair of the Tools and Applications Session, Profa. Flávia Delicato (DIMAp - UFRN), through her e-mail flavia.delicato@dimap.ufrn.br. Posters
The Poster session provides an opportunity for researchers and professionals to present their recent research, and to obtain feedback from their peers in an informal setting. A paper containing the poster description should be submitted. The paper should include the description of the theory, technology or method associated with the work. The submission should be done using the JEMS/SBC system (https://submissoes.sbc.org.br). Papers can be written in Portuguese or in English. The paper format must be in accordance with the ACM template (see http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html) e and should not exceed 2 pages. Papers should be submitted already in their final version, since it will not be allowed to submit a new version in case of acceptance. Thus, the format instructions should be carefully followed. Only PDF format will be accepted for paper submission. The accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the conference to present the poster. Soon it will be available in this site the instructions for poster confection.
More information should be requested to the chair of the Poster Session, Profa. Flávia Delicato (DIMAp - UFRN), through her e-mail flavia.delicato@dimap.ufrn.br. VI PhD and MSc Consortium
The Workshop on Thesis and Dissertations of WebMedia (WTD-WebMedia) is a forum dedicated to the presentation and discussion of ongoing MsC and PhD work in the areas of Multimedia, Hypermedia and Web. The main goal of this track is to stimulate debates where students have a feedback for their work and also have an overview of the national research status in the area. The track also aims at stimulating integration and cooperation of researchers giving a wider visibility of the current researches for the academic and industrial community. All papers submitted to the WTD-WebMedia will be peer-reviewed by members of an Evaluation Committee. The selected work will be presented during the Workshop and should receive feedback from the audience. We expect to favor, at the end of the event, the integration between Universities and between students and professors. Authors are invited to submit original work, containing the proposals and partial results of their scientific or technological research activities. The topics are the same of the symposium, which can be found above. Authors must use the JEMS/SBC system (https://submissoes.sbc.org.br) to electronically submit their MsC/PhD work overview. Paper can be written in English or in Portuguese, but only the PDF format is accepted. Papers must follow the style guidelines of ACM (see http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html) and should contain up to 5 pages.
The first page should contain the follow information: Paper acceptance requires that the student will register for the conference in order to present its work, since the workshop aims at promoting the discussion about the ongoing work.
More information should be requested to the chair of the of Workshop on Thesis and Dissertations, Prof. Valter Roesler (UNISINOS), through the e-mail roesler@unisinos.br. III Undergraduate Research Workshop
The Undergraduate Research Workshop (WTIC - Workshop de Trabalhos de Iniciação Científica) is a forum dedicated to the presentation and discussion of undergraduate ongoing researches in the Multimedia, Hypermedia and Web areas. The main goal is to stimulate the integration of undergraduate students with the academic and industrial members. Authors are invited to submit their ongoing work, including proposals and partial results of their technological or scientific research. Papers will be peer-reviewed by a Technical Committee and the selected papers will be presented during the WTIC. Therefore, the paper acceptance requires the student registration for the Symposium to present his/her work. Authors should use the JEMS/SBC system(https://submissoes.sbc.org.br) to submit their papers. Papers can be written in English or in Portuguese, but only papers in the PDF format will be accepted.
